Legislative Representation
SubAla works tirelessly with Alabama's legislature and governmental entities to protect and advance the rights of our members. Throughout the year SubAla meets with legislators, committee chairs, bill sponsors, department heads, and associations regarding statutes and regulations that impact our members. Whether it is drafting legislation, amending regulations, or fighting bills detrimental to Alabama's Subcontractors and Specialty Contractors, SubAla is there for you. SubAla is involved with numerous legislative issues, including but not limited to, immigration, workers compensation, mechanics liens, prompt payment, licensing requirements, industry oversight, and qualified workforce recruitment.
Education
SubAla provides access numerous materials and guidance needed to be successful in the construction industry. Whether it be direct contact with SubAla’s General Counsel regarding contract terms and regulatory requirements, or access to live and web based seminars covering a wide variety of employment and workers' compensation related subject matters, SubAla is there for its members.
Annual Convention
SubAla hosts an annual convention that includes educational speakers, a golf tournament, and an awards banquet. The annual convention is a great networking opportunity as well as fun and fellowship.
